I guess at some point I have to show a picture of myself and not just of my dog, right? Well here I am…with my dog.
I am Dana Williams-Johnson and by day I am a Director of Content and Strategy Management for a trade association in Washington, DC and by night (or afternoons) I am an adjunct professor at Howard University teaching Social and Internet Marketing a.k.a. Social Media. For my full job background you can check me out via LinkedIn.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Howard University and a Master of Professional Studies in Publishing from the George Washington University. I’ve always been into print publications and design and as the world shifted to digital mediums I realized I had to as well.
In 2008 I started a blog (The Art of Accessories) as part of a grad school assignment. It blossomed into something bigger than I ever expected and exposed me to the wonderful world of social media as it was taking off. In 2013 after 5 years of blogging and a rebranding to I Am DWJ, I decided it was time to leave blogging behind to focus on other things in life. I can still be found on social media via Twitter, Instagram (with the hashtags #cherstagrams, #dwjknits and #100happydaysdwj) and Flickr. And the archives of my old blog live on here.
